This past weekend I finally got to go experience The Little Fleet in Traverse City, Michigan for the first time. I know, I know…I am very late to the party! Honestly it is difficult to get my family out for dinner, or really anywhere all at the same time these days. We went to celebrate my best friend’s 10 years of marriage and decided to bring all the kids along. If you haven’t been, it is an indoor/outdoor space with a bar and many delicious food trucks. It is such a cool concept and I can’t believe it took me so long to get there.
There is seating outdoors, some of it covered – which is fortunate since it decided to rain hard during our visit. There is also seating indoors if you prefer. When you arrive you find a spot to settle and then start wandering through the many food trucks to pick what deliciousness you are going to try first!
Our family of five chose to frequent three different trucks for our dinners. The youngest wanted Mac N Cheese which she thoroughly enjoyed and ate every bite, it was from the Cordwood BBQ truck. My pre-teen son devoured a burger with an egg on top from Glendale Ave’s truck. And everyone enjoyed their french fries. Our friends grabbed tacos from Happy Taco Shop, as well as delicious sushi from White on Rice. Everyone enjoyed their very different meals.
The food was fantastic, but the ambiance and community was my favorite part. There were children and dogs all around. It was a space enjoyed by all ages, young to old. I even managed to run into a great friend while we were there. So despite the uncooperative weather, I really enjoyed our two hours at Little Fleet and plan to go back many times in the future.
After exploring their website a bit I see they also offer live music and event throughout the year. You can even choose to host your own event or celebration at Little Fleet. Check out their site for more information.
